Just for Today
Lent is the time to turn toward God through Jesus Christ. Prayer and study of God’s Wprd gives us the focus we need. Small group study such as “Making room for Neighbors” gives us support and encouragement.
This week I cam using verses from Hebrews to encourage Focus through Prayer. Hebrews was the study for Presbyterian Women last year. I have continued to study Hebrews for the Bible truths presented to early Christians. Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God.
Key verse: God’s Son shines out with God’s glory, and all that God’s Son is and does marks him as God. He regulates the universe by the mighty power of His command. He is the one who died to cleanse us and clear our record of all sin, and then sat down in Highest Honor beside the Great God of Heaven,. Hebrews 1:3 (Living)
“Just for Today”
- Focus on Jesus as the Son of God – Fully human and fully divine.
- These words were written before the fall of the Temple in Jerusalem (70 AD). They were true then and they are true in 2019.
- Jesus can regulate the universe, yet he cares for me – personally. Let this thought go with you today and tomorrow.
