Cathy Campbell Director of Christian Education and Spiritual Formation campbellI am a life-long native Floridian and have lived most of my life in DeLand.  I attended Stetson Baptist Church as a child and was baptized there.  The church was a big part of our life growing up, with my father teaching Sunday school and my mom working in the church nursery. I am proud to be a Florida Gator, earning both my Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Special Education.  In 2009, I completed course work to become an Infant/Toddler Developmental Specialist.  I worked for Volusia County Schools for 35 years, in the classroom and at the district level. Bill and I were married here at First Presbyterian DeLand in 1990.  We joined the church in 1993 and have been active members since then.  When we first joined the church, we were invited to a newly formed Sunday school class and soon became the leaders of that class.  We also became involved in small group ministries.  Meeting with other adults in Bible study, fellowship and in service, formed life-long friendships and strengthened my commitment to Christ and to His church.  Those are the things that, I believe, started me on my path to this current job. I have been ordained as an Elder in this church and served as Moderator of the Children’s Ministry Team at one time.  During that time, I worked with a team to create and implement the workshop rotation Sunday school program that was the basis of our Children’s ministry for more than 12 years. I have also served as chairman of the board of directors for the First Presbyterian School and fully support the school as a mission of this church.  In my new job position, I am very excited to collaborate with the teachers and staff of FPS as they share the love of Jesus with our little ones. My husband, Bill, is a landscape designer and he plays in the church praise band.  We have two grown children who grew up here at First Pres DeLand.  Iva is currently living outside of NYC and working in the fashion industry.  Ian recently graduated from Stetson, is currently living in Orlando and exploring what direction God has in mind for him
